Billion-dollar asset manager ARK Invest has significantly increased its Bitcoin price forecast, projecting a bull case target of $2.4 million by the end of 2030. The new estimate reflects growing institutional investment, Bitcoin’s adoption as digital gold, and its rising role as a safe-haven asset in emerging economies.
In a new report published on April 24, ARK research analyst David Puell detailed the firm’s revised forecasts, which also include a base case target of $1.2 million and a bear case of $500,000. These are significant jumps from ARK’s earlier estimates of $710,000 (base) and $300,000 (bear) made in February 2024.
Why ARK Believes Bitcoin Could Soar to $2.4M
According to Puell, institutional involvement plays the most critical role in ARK’s bullish scenario. ARK estimates Bitcoin could capture 6.5% of the global $200 trillion financial market, excluding gold, by the end of the decade.
Bitcoin’s increasing acceptance as a digital store of value, comparable to gold, was another major factor. In the most optimistic projection, Bitcoin could claim 60% of gold’s $18 trillion market cap, reinforcing the view that BTC is evolving into the new standard of digital wealth preservation.
A third driving force behind the bull case is Bitcoin’s use in emerging markets as a hedge against inflation and currency devaluation, contributing to 13.5% of the capital inflow expected in this scenario.
Bold Predictions for a Bold Asset
ARK’s bullish projection would push Bitcoin’s market capitalization to $49.2 trillion, assuming the total supply hits 20.5 million BTC by 2030. That figure would make Bitcoin more valuable than the combined GDP of the United States and China, and almost double gold’s current market cap of $22.5 trillion.
Even the bear and base case scenarios imply dramatic growth, requiring compounded annual returns of 32% and 53%, respectively, a rare feat for an asset already in the trillion-dollar club.
BTC Rebounds, Strategic Reserves, and a New Era
This ambitious outlook follows Bitcoin’s recent recovery from a 2025 low of $75,160 to trade around $94,000. Analysts also cite increasing political recognition of Bitcoin, highlighted by the Trump administration’s recent establishment of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, as another sign of mainstream adoption.
ARK’s updated projections could reinvigorate long-term investor sentiment as Bitcoin continues to gain traction in both institutional portfolios and national policy agendas.
