SBI Group, a leading Japanese financial conglomerate, has entered a new strategic partnership with blockchain oracle platform Chainlink to bring advanced crypto-powered tools to financial institutions across Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Blockchain Tools for Finance in Asia
Through the partnership, SBI and Chainlink will develop solutions that enable cross-chain tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs)—including onchain bonds—while providing onchain verification of stablecoin reserves. The effort dovetails with SBI’s recent tie-ups with Circle Internet Group, Ripple Labs, and Web3 infrastructure firm Startale, underscoring a rapidly accelerating institutional pivot to digital finance.
Chainlink’s interoperability protocol and secure data feeds are expected to support tokenized funds, facilitate cross-border transactions, and enhance transparency in stablecoin settlement systems for regulated institutions.

Chainlink’s Role in Tokenization
Beyond payments and settlement, the partners plan to use Chainlink’s data infrastructure to bring Net Asset Value (NAV) data for tokenized funds onchain—streamlining reporting, audits, and fund operations. With financial institutions in Japan and APAC increasingly embracing blockchain, the initiative positions SBI and Chainlink to advance tokenization, stablecoin adoption, and institutional-grade digital finance infrastructure.
