Robinhood Markets has once again made headlines in the crypto space, reporting a robust $28 billion in cryptocurrency trading volume for the second quarter of 2025. This marks a 32% year-over-year increase, even as activity dipped from the $46 billion seen in Q1.
Despite the quarter-over-quarter slowdown, analysts at Cantor Fitzgerald remain optimistic. While they project a modest 6% growth in crypto volume for 2026, primarily due to expected seasonal trends, they also note that growing institutional adoption and improved regulatory clarity could significantly boost those numbers.
Q3 Starts Strong with $6B in July Net Deposits
Robinhood’s momentum has carried into the third quarter, as July alone saw over $6 billion in net deposits. This has analysts predicting record-breaking equity and options volumes for the month. The return of meme stock enthusiasm has also contributed to the uptick, with retail investors flocking back to platforms like Robinhood.
The company’s expansion into new sectors such as staking and tokenized equities is also starting to bear fruit. As of late July, Robinhood has accumulated $750 million worth of staked Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL). Plans are in motion to support staking for additional assets soon.
In addition, Robinhood’s new Layer 2 blockchain is showing promise by enabling cross-border stock trading. This feature is aimed at international investors who often face high foreign exchange (FX) fees and limited access to U.S. financial markets.
Cantor Fitzgerald Raises HOOD Price Target to $118
In response to Robinhood’s expanding platform and growing crypto presence, Cantor Fitzgerald has increased its price target on HOOD shares from $100 to $118. The firm continues to rate the stock as “overweight,” citing confidence in the company’s ability to capitalize on rising crypto engagement and alternative asset offerings.
Analysts believe Robinhood is well-positioned to ride the next wave of digital finance adoption. With both retail and institutional demand growing and regulatory frameworks becoming clearer, the company could outperform expectations in the coming quarters.
