The Newsmax board has officially approved a plan to invest up to $5 million in Bitcoin and Trump Coin over the next twelve months. The move positions the company to join a growing list of institutional investors adding cryptocurrency to their corporate balance sheets.
The initiative will roll out gradually, depending on market conditions and internal liquidity planning. Following the announcement, Newsmax’s stock price climbed by approximately 4.1 percent in after-hours trading, reaching $11.27, reflecting investor optimism toward the firm’s crypto strategy.
Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy highlighted that the TRUMP Coin’s value could mirror the success of President Donald Trump’s administration, noting that the investment supports the company’s diversification goals and long-term asset strategy. Ruddy emphasized that digital assets now represent a viable alternative store of value amid changing economic conditions.
The TRUMP Coin, launched in 2025 on the Solana blockchain, has garnered significant attention due to its association with Trump-related entities and its performance during key political events. The token has gained strong traction among retail traders, with some analysts viewing it as a symbolic representation of Trump-era economic optimism.
However, market experts caution that the move comes with potential regulatory and reputational risks. As the cryptocurrency market remains volatile, any sharp downturn could impact Newsmax’s balance sheet and investor sentiment. Despite these risks, industry observers consider the investment a bold and strategic move that may inspire other media or publicly traded companies to explore digital asset holdings.
If successfully executed, this crypto acquisition could position Newsmax as one of the first NYSE-listed media firms to officially include Bitcoin and TRUMP Coin in its treasury reserves.
