However, the real affordability shift comes when measured against cryptocurrency values. In Bitcoin terms, the iPhone 17 costs approximately 0.0072 BTC, nearly half of the 0.0140 BTC needed for the iPhone 16 just a year ago. Similarly, the phone now costs about 0.1866 ETH, down from 0.3386 ETH in 2024.
This contrast underscores the interaction between stable hardware pricing and volatile financial markets, further cementing Bitcoin and Ethereum’s role as long-term stores of value rather than purely speculative assets.
