What Alpenglow proposes
Alpenglow brings two technical innovations. Votor and Rotor change how blocks are proposed and finalized, so confirmations become effectively instant for users. The upgrade also embeds a new resilience model, described as a “20+20” configuration, designed to keep the network operating even when a large fraction of validators are offline or behaving adversarially.
