Famous Canadian singer Justin Bieber has joined the Bored Ape Yacht Club celebrity roster. Bieber bought Bored Ape NFT #3001 for $1.3 million, or 500 ETH on the popular OpenSea NFT marketplace. Other Bored Ape Yacht Club celebrities that Bieber has just joined include professional basketball player Stephen Curry and American tennis player Serena Williams. Other big names in the club are American rapper Gunna and musician Travis Barker, Eminem and Paris Hilton.
At the time of the sale, the floor price of Bored Ape Yacht Club was $270,908 (104 ETH). However, Bieber spent 500 ETH, which means the celeb paid excessively more than the club’s estimated value. Bieber’s new Bored Ape NFT has a new punk blue background that 12% of all apes have. Additionally, the NFT has a black T-shirt, and the monkey has sad, watery eyes, two large ears, and dark brown fur with an unshaven mouth.

Earlier in the year, Bord Ape Yacht Club passed the $1 billion mark in sales after experiencing phenomenal growth in 2021. As of January 4, total sales generated by the 10,000-piece NFT collection stood at $1.03 billion. At the time, OpenSea revealed that Bored Ape Yacht Club had an all-time trading volume of 256K ETH.
