Tesla CEO Elon Musk drew attention to the eccentric fashion choices of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin with a hilarious meme
Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter to post a hilarious meme in an apparent attempt to go after Web3.
The three-panel meme comic published by the centibillionaire depicts the evolution of the internet.
The Web1 section is accompanied by a photo of Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
The second panel is dedicated to Web 2.0, the term coined in the early 2000s by Silicon Valley oracle Tim O’Reilly. Therefore, the meme features a photo of actor Jesse Eisenberg, who portrayed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in David Fincher’s Oscar-winning film “Social Network.”
Finally, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin is supposed to embody Web3, the next iteration of blockchain-powered internet technology, in a hilarious bear costume he wore at ETHDenver, a conference oriented Ethereum which took place in Denver, Colorado.
Buterin’s fashion choices have recently sparked a lot of discussion on social media. Some joked that the near suit actually marked the start of another bear market. In fact, Buterin recently claimed that another crypto winter would be good for the industry.
The Ethereum co-founder also wore Shiba Inu-themed pants, captivating the second-largest cryptocurrency meme community.
The intended message behind Musk’s recently posted tweet remains unclear, but many have started sharing corny memes in response.
Many companies have jumped on the Web3 trend, Musk has been very critical from one of tech’s hottest buzzwords. In late December, he said it was “more about marketing than reality.” The billionaire has also repeatedly mocked the technology with derogatory tweets.
As reported by U.Today Reilly recently felt that the cryptocurrency industry needed to experience another crash for any real Web3 projects to emerge.
