Supply Crunch Supports Higher Targets
Scaramucci highlighted Bitcoin’s scarcity-driven fundamentals. With only 450 new bitcoins mined daily, supply continues to lag behind the growing wave of institutional and retail demand.
“We have seen cycles of pain and euphoria, but the math is clear,” Scaramucci explained. “There is simply not enough new issuance to meet growing demand.”
SkyBridge has maintained its year-end price target between $180,000 and $200,000, which Scaramucci described as more realistic than the overly aggressive forecasts circulating in the market.
Expanding Investment Avenues
Institutional investors are exploring multiple ways to gain Bitcoin exposure. Scaramucci noted that direct ownership, ETFs, and Bitcoin-linked equities such as MicroStrategy all serve as viable pathways.
“Institutions restricted from holding Bitcoin directly often choose ETFs or equities, while purists and long-term believers still prefer direct ownership,” he said.
The growing legitimacy of Bitcoin as collateral is another signal of mainstream adoption. Even major banks such as JPMorgan are now lending against Bitcoin, underscoring its evolving role in global finance.
Stablecoins and the Future of Payments
Beyond Bitcoin itself, Scaramucci discussed the rapidly expanding stablecoin sector. He referenced Wyoming’s plan to launch a dollar-backed stablecoin, which he sees as supportive of both the U.S. dollar and Treasury markets.
Stablecoins, he argued, are also building new payment rails, offering faster and cheaper alternatives to credit card systems. At previous SkyBridge events in Bermuda, attendees tested stablecoin-based payments with instant settlement, demonstrating the technology’s efficiency and user-friendliness.
Scaramucci expects the stablecoin industry to consolidate, with private firms driving innovation rather than a central bank-issued digital currency.
Bitcoin’s Next Chapter
With institutional inflows, supply scarcity, and the growth of complementary crypto innovations like stablecoins, Scaramucci remains confident in Bitcoin’s upward trajectory. While volatility is likely to persist, he sees $200,000 as a realistic target for Bitcoin in 2025, provided adoption momentum continues.
