Non-fungible token (NFT) assets have been extremely popular this year and to date over $ 20 billion in volume has been recorded in terms of NFT sales among 100 collections. While many unique NFTs have sold for millions of dollars, a number of NFT projects and collections have seen hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars in absolute volume. According to metrics from defillama.com, the popular NFT Cryptopunks collection has captured $ 2.98 billion in volume all time.
100 NFT Collections, 6 Channels, 20 billion dollars in volume
Many NFT collections were very present in 2021 and were the subject of various discussions. While Bitcoin.com News posted the top ten most expensive non-fungible token sales this year, a large amount of NFT collections saw significant trading volume and demand. The data from defillama.com tracks 100 NFT collections and so far there have been $ 20.13 billion in all-time sales for these specific NFT series.
NFTs come from blockchains such as Ethereum, Solana, Immutablex, Binance Smart Chain, Arbitrum, and Terra. The project with the most volume is the Cryptopunks collection with a volume of 2.98 billion dollars and 3,286 owners. Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) has the second-largest volume with $ 1.04 billion in all-time volume and 5,961 owners.
Decentraland made just under $ 1 billion with $ 930.98 million and 6,051 owners. Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) ranks fourth with $ 513.23 million in all-time volume and 10,711 MAYC owners. The Sandbox takes fifth place this year with $ 450.7 million in volume and 17,315 owners. The Cool Cats NFT Collection grossed $ 239.3 million, Superrare traded $ 237.94 million, Cryptoadz made $ 204.29 million, and Parallel Alpha had a volume of approximately $ 202.87 million.
Finally, the tenth largest volume belongs to Punks Comic with $ 181.46 million and 5,912 owners. After Punks Comic, other notable NFT collections included Clone X ($ 154.55 million), Cyberkongz ($ 151.26 million), Veefriends ($ 130.47 million), Doodles ($ 121.89 million) ), Creature World ($ 115.19 million), RTFKT ($ 93.8 million), Vox Collectibles ($ 66.4 million), Town Star ($ 65.7 million), Gutter Cat Gang (61 , $ 6 million) and Rumble Kong League ($ 52.6 million).
Town Star, Parallel Alpha, The Sandbox Assets, Adidas Originals NFT have the highest number of owners
The NFT project with the most owners listed on the NFT volume measurements page of defillama.com is Town Star with 31,721 owners. Parallel Alpha has 30,250, Sandbox assets have 22,387 owners, Adidas Originals has 18,869 and, as mentioned above, Sandbox Virtual Universe has 17,315 owners.
Adidas Originals, being a fairly new NFT project, sold $ 38.3 million in a very short period of time. The Adidas Originals NFT collection at the time of writing has a floor price of around $ 3,523. The floor price of the Bored Ape Yacht Club is highest at $ 193,000 and the floor price is followed by the Inft Personality Pod sale at $ 79,173. The collection with the lowest floor price at the time of writing is Levana Dragons at $ 12.00.
